The article presents a review of the literature about the quality of life of plastic surgeon’s patients. Moreover, article considers the historical aspects and the current state of the issue of assessing the quality of life in the Russian Federation and abroad. It has been shown that plastic surgery improves the patient’s quality of life, however, there are cases when patients negatively evaluate the results of the intervention. At the same time, plastic surgeon’s patients are characterized by mental disorders (depression, body dysmorphic disorder, personality disorders), a long duration of the disease and the presence of “defect” of the body (anatomical and functional defects of the body, malformations). Drew conclusions shows that, in combination with surgical intervention, these factors can reduce the patient’s quality of life. The review presents general and special questionnaires for assessing the quality of life of a plastic surgeon patient. The article states that the assessment of the quality of life in plastic surgery is associated with objective difficulties, and there is absolute insufficiency of validated, reliable and sensitive quality of life measuring methods of plastic surgeon’s patients in the Russian Federation.en_GB
