SOME OBSERVATIONS ON THE WAYS OF INDICATING SPATIAL RELATIONS IN SWEDISH PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS

Abstract

Based on the concepts of Yury Apresyan and Elena Kubryakova, the author of the article suggests that the Swedish language contains a body of phraseological units which derive their meanings from the interpretation of spatial relations through the prism of natural language. On the basis of two sources, the author makes a selection of phraseological units, and then they are classified according to the way of indicating spatial relationships from which the meaning of phraseological units is derived. The paper presents conclusions about the prospects of further research of the phraseological units with elements of spatial relations and the possibility of applying the results of the research in practice, in teaching the Swedish language in particular.
