«Guilty Pleasure» as a New Concept of Film Studies: Biographic Musical, Poetics of the Hybrid Film Genre

Магистерская диссертация состоит из введения, трех глав, списка литературы, фильмографии и приложения. Во введении обоснована актуальность выбранной темы, предложена гипотеза, поставлены цель и задачи исследования. Актуальность данной работы обоснована популярностью кино-байопиков и появлением нового поджанра - байопика-мюзикла. Данная работа представляет собой попытку проанализировать поэтику гибридного жанра, определить его особенности. В качестве объекта исследования выбраны фильмы изучаемого жанра последних лет "Величайший шоумен" (2017), "Рокетмен" (2019), "Tick, tick... BOOM!" (2021) Целью исследования является описание нового гибридного жанра байопика-мюзикла.

Предметом исследования является поджанр байопик-мюзикл, а также жанры-первоосновы. В начале исследования были поставлены следующие задачи: 1. Выяснение исторического контекста жанра биографического кино и жанра мюзикла. 2. Выяснение жанровой природы мюзикла в кино, его отличия от просто музыкального фильма 3. Анализ поэтики фильмов жанра байопик-мюзикл. 4. Сравнение поэтики различных представителей этого жанра

Первая глава нашей работы состоит из двух параграфов. В главе работы был сделан вывод о том, что биографическое кино Америки оказывает большое влияние на социальное восприятие истории, мифологизируя образы реальных личностей и конструируя субъективный взгляд на исторические события из жизни знаменитых людей. А также выясняются критерии для дальнейшего отбора фильмов для анализа основной темы исследования. Вторая глава нашей работы «Guilty pleasure как новый концепт киноведения: байопик-мюзикл: поэтика гибридного жанра» состоит из трех частей. А именно, из анализа проблематики жанра мюзикла в кино, разбора исторического контекста и развития жанра, а также из анализа жанровых условностей и канонов. Третья глава состоит из поэтического анализа фильмов, представляющих гибридный жанр, для нахождения общих поэтических черт, а также описания жанра. .Общий вывод работы заключается в том, что новый гибридный жанр обладает вполне определенными характерными чертами, и в дальнейшем было бы интересно изучить эволюцию этого молодого жанра В конце работы присутствует приложение с кадрами из фильмов Общий объём выпускной квалификационной работы составляет 83 с.

Abstract for Master's Thesis "Guilty pleasure as a new concept of film studies: biopic-musical, poetics of hybrid genre".

This master's thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, list of references, filmography and an appendix. In the introduction the relevance of the chosen topic is substantiated, the hypothesis is proposed, the goal and objectives of the research are set. The relevance of this work is justified by the popularity of film biopics and the emergence of a new subgenre - the biopic-musical. This work is an attempt to analyze the poetics of the hybrid genre, to determine its features. The films of the genre under study in recent years "The Greatest Showman" (2017), "Rocketman" (2019), "Tick, tick... BOOM!" (2021) The purpose of the study is to describe the new hybrid genre of the biopic-musical.

The subject of the study is the sub-genre of the biopic-musical, as well as the primary genres. The following objectives were set at the beginning of the study: 1. To clarify the historical context of the biographical film genre and the genre of the musical. 2. Finding out the genre nature of the musical in cinema, its difference from a simple musical film 3. Analysis of the poetics of films of the biopic-musical genre. 4. Comparison of poetics of different representatives of this genre

The first chapter of our work consists of two paragraphs. The chapter concludes that American biographical cinema has a great influence on the social perception of history, mythologizing the images of real personalities and constructing a subjective view of historical events in the lives of famous people. It also clarifies the criteria for the further selection of films for the analysis of the main topic of the research. The second chapter of our work "Guilty pleasure as a new concept of film studies: biopic-musical: poetics of hybrid genre" consists of three parts. Namely, from the analysis of the problems of the genre of the musical in cinema, from the analysis of the historical context and development of the genre, as well as from the analysis of genre conventions and canons. The third chapter consists of a poetic analysis of films representing the hybrid genre to find common poetic features as well as a description of the genre. .The overall conclusion of the paper is that the new hybrid genre has quite certain characteristics, and it would be interesting to study the evolution of this young genre in the future At the end of the work there is an appendix with film footage The total volume of the graduate qualification work is 83 p.
