The article regards the contradiction between Kant’s conception of eternal peace and Fichte’s conception of just war as a that of aggression in connection with the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great patriotic War. The author shows that this contradiction was resolved in the concept of war represented in Hegel’s philosophy of law. The achievements of German classical philosophy, its analysis of the concepts of war and fatherland give us the opportunity to define the character of our patriotic wars. Also they give us an opportunity to answer the question about the ultimate goal, for whose sake we have defeated our enemies.en_GB
