dc.description.abstractThe research materials carried out by the authors in the last 10–15 years in the frame of the new scientific directions of atomic physics and r adiation chemistry with the financial support of the Russian Fund of Basic Research are used extensively in this book. Along with the classical methods of collision theory we considered new relatively approaches based on the concept of the development of «dynamic chaos» in single collisions of particles involving highly excited atomic-molecular states. The quasi-classical models of the formation and decay of a collision quasi-molecular complex system are described. The adequacy of using a combination of deterministic and stochastic approaches to describing the dynamics of development of ionization processes in the physics of atomic collisions is demonstrated. A number of reactions taking place in the lower ionosphere of the Earth have been analyzed to determine their effect on the stability of the functioning of modern satellite navigation systems. The book is designed for professionals working in the scientific fields of physics and chemistry of low-temperature plasma and a cold Rydberg media, radiation chemistry, atmosphere physics and astrophysics. It can also be used as a textbook for students and graduate students of relevant universities.en_GB
