The Catholic Church in Russia: Transformations of the 20th century

Abstract

Данная выпускная квалификационная работа является исследованием развития института Католической Церкви в контексте становления российской поликонфессиональной традиции, адаптации католичества к социокультурным трансформациям в российской культуре ХХ века. В работе исследуется нормативно-правовое положение Римско-католической Церкви в исторической ретроспективе. Рассматриваются закон 1905 г. "Об укреплении начал веротерпимости" и другие законодательные акты начала ХХ века в контексте укрепления положения католичества. Исследуется изменение статусов института Католической Церкви в период Февральской и Октябрьской революций 1917 года. Рассматривается положение Римско-католической Церкви в Советском государстве первой половины ХХ века, включая период Второй мировой войны и послевоенный этап истории Католической Церкви в СССР. Показаны общие тенденции возрождения Римско-католической Церкви как полноправной государственной религии в современной России.

This final qualifying work is a survey of development of the Catholic Church institution in the context of the formation of the Russian multi-confessional tradition, the adaptation of Catholicity to the social and cultural transformations in the Russian culture of the XX century. We have researched the regulatory and legal status of the Roman Catholic Church in historical retrospective. We have considered the decree "On tolerance development" of 1905 and other legislative acts of the early XX century in the context of strengthing of the position of Catholicity.In this work has taken place a historical survey of the change of statuses of the Catholic Church Institute during the February and October Revolutions of 1917. We have considered the position of the Roman Catholic Church in the Soviet State of the first half of the XX century, including World War II and the post-war phase of the history of the Catholic Church in the Soviet Union. We have shown the general tendencies of revival of the Roman Catholic Church as a full-fledged state religion in the modern Russia.
