The problem of racism in the USA

Abstract

В данной работе произведено исследование феномена расизма в Соединенных Штатах Америки в период с 2012 по 2020 год. Выявлены причины избрания Барака Обамы на второй президентский срок, составлена хронология случаев столкновений афроамериканцев с полицией и определено влияние действий президента на настроения в стране. Рассмотрена «Война памятников», начавшаяся с избранием Дональда Трампа на пост президента, а также изучена теория о начале культурной революции в США. Исследование включает в себя категоризацию социальных движений, борющихся за права афроамериканцев и организаций, выступающих за проведение политики белого супрематизма. Проведен анализ противостояния альт-правых и альт-левых группировок и определена причина развития конфликта. Более подробно рассмотрено движение Me too, борющееся против сексуального насилия и защищающее права женщин. Определены предпосылки его возникновения и распространения, и проанализирован феномен расизма, возникший внутри движения.

In this paper the research about phenomenon of racism in the United States of America during the period from 2012 to 2020 is conducted. The reasons for the election of Barack Obama for a second presidential term are identified, a chronology of cases of clashes between African Americans and the police is compiled, and the influence of the president’s actions on the moods in the country is determined. The “Monument War”, which began after the election of Donald Trump as the president, is examined, and the theory of the beginning of the cultural revolution in the USA is studied. The research includes a categorization of social movements fighting for the rights of African Americans and organizations advocating a policy of white Suprematism. The analysis of the opposition between the alt-right and alt-left groups is carried out and the reason for the development of the conflict is determined. The Me too movement, which fights against sexual violence and defends women's rights, is discussed in more detail. The prerequisites for its occurrence and spread are identified, and the phenomenon of racism that has arisen within the movement is analyzed.
