The problems of publishing Classical Hebrew religious literature in Eastern Europe

Abstract

Работа посвящена вопросам создания и распространения письменной еврейской культуры. Термин «древнееврейская религиозная литература» спорен, чему посвящен параграф первой главы. Еврейский народ объединен обширной письменной культурой, что подтверждается самоопределением «Народ Книги». Об эволюции института, ответственного за сохранение и распространение культуры, и модернизации формы книги говорит вторая глава. В третьей главе работы представлены три вида основных препятствий, стоявших перед писцами (а позднее – перед типографами). Среди них – политическая нестабильность, вопросы технического оформления книг и теоретический вопрос о классификации шрифтов.

The scientific work is dedicated to the creation and dissemination of written Jewish culture. The term "Hebrew Religious literature" is controversial (second paragraph of the first chapter). The Jewish people are united by extensive written culture, as evidenced by self-determination, "People of the Book." On the evolution of the institution, which is responsible for the preservation and dissemination of culture, and the modernization of the book forms is saying in the second chapter. Three types of the major obstacles which was facing the scribe (and later – to the printing houses) presented in the third chapter. Among them are political instability, Technical design of the books and issues and theoretical questions about fonts classification.
