The problem of conflict and conflict resolution in Aristotle's political philosophy

Abstract

Данная работа представляет собой попытку конфликтологического осмыслениюя философии политики Аристотеля. С помощью анализа литературных источников и научных работ по античной тематике автор изучает понятие полиса, политики и её связь с этикой в античном обществе, разбирает этические понятия блага, счастья, добродетели и добродетельного гражданина, установливая их связь с политической наукой. Также он определяет различие понятия политического в Античную эпоху и современности. Помимо этого, было проведено исследование эволюции понятия конфликта на протяжении истории философской и научной мысли. В результате анализа текстов «Этики» и «Политики» автор впервые выделяет конфликтологическую парадигму во взглядах великого древнегреческого философа на государство и политические конфликты, связь последних с формами государственного устройства, а также систематизирует советы Аристотеля по поводу предотвращения этих конфликтов.

The author attempts in the paper to comprehend conflictologically the political philosophy of Aristotle. By means of scientific papers and literary sources analysis the author considers the notion of polis, policy and its connection with ethics in the antique society, discusses ethical notions of good, happiness, virtue and the virtuous citizen while connecting them with the political science. Also he determines distinction between the notion of policy in Antique epoch and nowadays. In addition the research of the evolution of the notion “conflict” through the history of philosophical and scientific thought was conducted. The author emphasizes the conflictological paradigm in the philosopher’s views on the state and political conflicts and the connection between conflicts and the state system by the result of the analysis of the “Ethics” and “Politics”. Furthermore he systematizes Aristotle’s advices for prevention and anticipation those conflicts.
