Sources of party funds of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1905 - 1917

Abstract

В данной работе рассматриваются источники формирования партийной кассы Российской социал-демократической рабочей партии (РСДРП). Процесс финансирования политических партий и организаций всегда оставался актуальным для исследователей различных гуманитарных отраслей. На данный момент финансовая сторона политической деятельности четко регулируется Федеральным законодательством. Однако так было не всегда. В начале ХХ столетия Российская социал-демократическая рабочая партия (РСДРП), вела непрерывную борьбу с действующей властью с целью ее свержения. При этом внутри ее рядов, практически с момента возникновения, имелись серьезные разногласия. Изученность данной проблемы растет с каждым годом. В различные десятилетия отношения исследователей и доступность документов различались, поэтому теории разных лет зачастую не соответствуют друг другу. Хронологические рамки данной работы ограничены между 1905 и 1917 годами. Автор берет для анализа период от событий первой Русской революции до Октября 1917 года, ознаменовавшего переход власти в руки большевиков. Объектом исследования является Российская социал-демократическая рабочая партия в период между революциями 1905 и 1917 годов. Предмет исследования – методы, посредством которых шло формирование партийной кассы. Тема исследования содержит в себе много аспектов и должна быть рассмотрена детально. В рамках данной работы автор ставит перед собой целью изучить следующие аспекты заявленной темы. Во-первых, осуществить анализ процесса формирования Большевистского Центра и деятельности его «финансовой группы». Во-вторых, охарактеризовать направленность в проведении экспроприаций и определить их роль в деле пополнения партийного бюджета. В-третьих, исследовать ход борьбы социал-демократов за пожертвования частных лиц. Для реализации перечисленных задач автор провел работу с рядом источников. К основным из них относятся материалы первых съездов РСДРП, а так же некоторых ключевые высказывания В. И. Ленина, которые могут дать на представление об отношении лидера большевиков к политике экспроприаций. Большое значение для исследование также играют документы о финансовых субсидиях большевикам в 1917, опубликованные С. Ляндерсом. Для более глубокого понимания темы была рассмотрена переписка и воспоминания участников революционного процесса. Данная работа состоит из введения, трех глав, заключения и списка использованных источников и литературы. В первой главе автор рассматривает организационное оформление Большевистского Центра и его «финансовой группы». Основываясь на докуметах, автор пытается воссоздать структуру будущей партии. Во второй главе автор рассматривает один из видов финансирования. В качестве метода формирование партийного бюджета рассматривается понятие экспроприации. В третьей главе автор рассматривает значение и характер частных пожертвования на революционные цели.

This following paper discusses the sources of party funds of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP). The process of financing of political parties and cooperations has always been important for the researchers of various social and humanitarian fields. At the moment, the financial side of the political activity is clearly regulated by the Federal law. Sources of financing of political parties, both external and internal, are one of the most essential issues. However, it was not always as clearly regulated. In the early twentieth century Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP), waged a constant struggle with the current government with a view to its overthrow. At the same time within the party, almost since the beginning, there were serious disagreements. The amount of studies regarding this problem is constantly increasing. In different decades the opinion of researchers and the availability of documents were significantly different, so the theories of different years often do not correspond to each other. The chronological scope of this work is limited between 1905 and 1917. The author analyses the time starting from the events the first Russian revolution to October 1917, which marked the transition of power to Bolsheviky. The object of research is Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in the period between the revolutions of 1905 and 1917. The subject of research - the methods by which the party funds were formed. The following topic contains a lot of aspects and each of them should be considered in detail. In this work the author aims to study the following aspects of the topic. First and foremost, to analyze the process of formation of the Bolshevik Centre and activities of its "financial group". Second, to describe the orientation in the conduct of expropriations and to determine their role in replenishing the party budget. Third, to explore the course of the struggle the Social Democrats for donations from individuals. To perform these tasks the author has worked with a number of sources. The main ones include the materials of the first Party Congress, as well as some of the key statements of Lenin, which can give an idea about the attitute of Bolshevik leader to expropriation policy. One of the significan sources is the research regarding foreign financial aid to the Bolsheviks in 1917, published by S. Lyandres. For a deeper understanding of the topic was considered correspondence and memoirs of participants of the revolutionary process This work consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, bibliography and a list of sources. In the first chapter the author examines the institutionalization of the Bolshevik Centre and its "financial group". Based on documents, the author tries to reconstruct the structure of the future party. In the second chapter the author examines one of the types of financing. Authors looks at the concepf of expropriation as one of the methods of forming the party budget. In the third chapter the author examines the value and nature of private donations for the revolutionary aims.
