Some aspects on the international economic cooperation in the Arctic

Abstract

In this article the authors examine international economic cooperation in the the Arctic with the unexpected focus on forms of international engagement among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) including such cases of border trade, business associations, partnership in the international forums and exhibitions. Authors are profoundly convinced that this type of economic international cooperation in the Arctic does offer good perspectives and should be more actively supported by the Russian federal and regional authorities as a policy of promotion of the non-resource export and partial import substitution of productivity in the Arctic by internal SMEs.
