The History of Antique Philosophy in 19th-century Russian Magazines

Abstract

Работа посвящена осмыслению античной философии в ведущих гуманитарных журналах России XIX века, оказавших существенное влияние на формирование отечественной историко-философской традиции. Изучение того, как представлена античная философия в том или ином журнале, позволило не только фиксировать степень профессионализма авторов и журналов, но и понять их мировоззренческие устремления. В исследовании раскрываются особенности осмысления античной философии в «Журнале Министерства народного просвещения» и показывается, что они обусловлены государственной идеологией данного периода. На основе изучения статей по античной философии в богословско-философском журнале «Вера и разум» раскрывается связь между осмыслением античной философии и поисками русской национальной философии, особенно заметная в этом журнале. В ходе анализа развернувшихся на страницах журнала «Вопросы философии и психологии» дискуссий о задачах философии и истории философии показывается, что к концу XIX века знание истории античной мысли становится одним из основных признаков профессионализма в области философии. Таким образом, впервые предпринятое исследование истории античной философии в российских журналах XIX века показывает, что освоение отечественными мыслителями богатейшей античной философской традиции становится значимым фактором развития самой русской философии, с одной стороны, позволяя ей на равных войти в общеевропейское философское пространство, с другой — являясь мощным источником создания собственных оригинальных учений.

The work is devoted to the understanding of ancient philosophy in the leading humanitarian journals of Russia of the XIX century, which had a significant impact on the formation of the national historical and philosophical tradition. The study of how ancient philosophy is presented in a particular magazine allowed not only to record the degree of professionalism of authors and magazines, but also to understand their worldview aspirations. The study reveals the features of understanding ancient philosophy in the Journal of the Ministry of national education and shows that they are due to the state ideology of this period. Based on the study of articles on ancient philosophy in the theological and philosophical journal "Faith and reason", the connection between the understanding of ancient philosophy and the search for Russian national philosophy is revealed, especially noticeable in this journal. The analysis of the discussions on the problems of philosophy and the history of philosophy that unfolded on the pages of the journal "Questions of philosophy and psychology" shows that by the end of the XIX century, knowledge of the history of ancient thought becomes one of the main signs of professionalism in the field of philosophy. Thus, the first research of the history of ancient philosophy in Russian journals of the XIX century shows that the development of the rich ancient philosophical tradition by Russian thinkers becomes a significant factor in the development of Russian philosophy itself, on the one hand, allowing it to enter the European philosophical space on an equal basis, and on the other — being a powerful source of creating its own original theories.
