Based on the analysis of factors of exogenous relief formation, the article discusses the genesis of the anthropomorphic and zoomorphic forms of relief. Science is dominated by the view that such stone sculptures, found all over the planet, are a “game” of nature. It is claimed, confi dently and without evidence, that they were created by various natural processes. In the spread of animal and anthropomorphic forms of relief there are certain patterns that indicate their anthropogenic origin. They occur very selectively in certain locations under diff erent geological-geomorphological and climatic conditions. At the same time on the other sites with similar environments to the places of their distribution they are absent. Many of these forms are confined to river valleys or to watershed locations convenient for the settlement of geographical space. The list created by the forms are limited to only some living things, well known to modern man. Distribution features of “fancy” morphosculpture rule out its natural Genesis and suggest its natural and anthropogenic origin. This conclusion is also supported from the position of consideration of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic shapes as also megaliths — the elements and indicators of the development of ancient geographical space.
