dc.description.abstract | This article reviews the achievements of the Ural academic science during the 2000s. The main areas of research set forth by the most pressing problems of that period call forth research interest of Ural political scientists. The author reflects the main stages of development of the national Ural science. In particular, one can see how by the early 2000s, Ural social scientists had formed their vision on key issues related to their professional self-determination. Based on this, Ural political scientists later studied a wide range of issues relating to various aspects of political, economic, social, and philosophical problems. These include the theoretical conceptualization of the practical participation of Ural political scientists in the changes of the 1990s and early 2000s, the analysis of the Russian political regime transformations, the changes in the Russian social structure and their moral and ideological consequences, the understanding of sociocultural, technological, economic, moral and ideological phenomena arising from the transformation of global capitalism, etc. The author gives special attention to the development by Ural scientists of topics related not only to local, but also to all-Russian and global issues. The article also reflects how the approaches of Ural political scientists have changed over time, in relation to one issue or another. Ural political science has a distinct interdisciplinary nature. A number of studies were conducted at the junction of such disciplines as political science, sociology, economics, urban studies, history, philosophy, psychology, literary criticism. Finally, the author emphasizes that Ural political science has never shied away from reviewing pressing issues. | en_GB |
