Human rights and sustainable development

Abstract

XXI век становится критическим столетием в развитии цивилизации. Неконтролируемый экономический рост прошлого века привел к резкому ухудшению состояния окружающей среды и условий жизнедеятельности беднейших слоев населения. Помимо этого наблюдаются повсеместные нарушения основных прав и свобод человека. Используемые в наше время прогресса методы их защиты не обеспечивают реализацию предоставленного членам общества правового статуса. В повестке дня стоит вопрос поиска новых подходов к решению данной проблемы. Работа посвящена международному сотрудничеству в области защиты прав человека в контексте международной концепции устойчивого развития. Особый акцент сделан на деятельности ООН по защите прав человека. Автор приходит к выводу, что при успешной имплементации концепции устойчивого развития во все сферы жизни общества прогресс будет достигнут не только в снижении нагрузки на окружающую человека среду, но и в реализации прав каждого на достойную жизнь и развитие.

The 21st century is becoming critical in the civilization’s development. The uncontrolled economic growth of the last century led to a sharp deterioration in the state of the environment and the living conditions of the poorest sections of the population. In addition, there are widespread violations of basic human rights and freedoms. The methods of their protection used in our time of progress do not ensure the realization of the legal status granted to members of the society. The issue of finding new approaches to solving this problem is on the agenda. The work is devoted to the international cooperation in the field of human rights protection in the context of the international concept of sustainable development. A special emphasis is placed on the human rights protection by United Nations. The author comes to the conclusion that if the concept of sustainable development is successfully implemented in all spheres of society, progress will be achieved not only in reducing the burden on the environment, but also in realizing the rights of everyone to a decent life and development.
