A comparative analysis of the policies of Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May

Abstract

Современная Великобритания переживает сложные кризисные процессы, итоги которых на данный момент не ясны. Чтобы вывести страну из состояния неопределённости и напряжённости государству нужен сильный, волевой, целеустремлённый лидер. В своё время таким лидером была Маргарет Тэтчер, чья личность по сей день вызывает споры. Британское общество крайне разделено относительно оценки итогов её правления. Сейчас же новым премьер министром стала опять женщина, опять консерватор, и опять-таки крайне противоречивая личность. Часть британцев видит в ней современную копию Маргарет Тэтчер, другая половина расценивает её как политика совершенно иного толка. И многие гадают, последует ли она в своих решениях примеру М. Тэтчер или поведёт страну по своему, до этого никем не проложенному, курсу. Целью данной дипломной работы является определение общих и особенных черт политического курса Маргарет Тэтчер и Терезы Мэй в контексте эволюции британской политической системы. Автором данной дипломной работы были рассмотрены проблемы и кризисные ситуации, с которыми боролись два премьер-министра, дан анализ их политике, рассмотрены и проанализированы все схожие и различные аспекты, и в итоге был сделан вывод относительно преемственности британских Кабинетов.

Modern Great Britain is going through difficult crisis processes, the results of which are not currently clear. To lead the country from a state of uncertainty and tension the state needs a strong-willed, purposeful leader. At the time this leader was Margaret Thatcher, whose personality is a matter of controversy even today. British society is extremely divided on the assessment of the outcome of her governance. Now the new Prime Minister is female again, is again conservative, and, again, has a very controversial personality. A part of the British see her as a modern copy of Margaret Thatcher, the other half sees her as a politician of a very different kind. And many are wondering if she is about to follow in her decisions the example of Margaret Thatcher, or will lead the country in her own way. The main objective of this qualification work is to identify common and special features of the political course of Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May in the context of the evolution of the British political system. The author of this work addressed the problems and crisis situations, that two Prime Ministers have fought, analyzed their policies, reviewed and analyzed all the similar and different aspects, and in the end, was made the conclusion on the succession of the Cabinet.
