The Syrian crisis and the relations among Russia, Iran, and the US

Abstract

Исследование посвящено сирийскому кризису в рамках трехсторонних отношений между Россией, Ираном и США. Были проанализированы три глобальные на сегодняшний день проблемы, которые возникли во время гражданской войны в Сирии: гуманитарный кризис, применение химического оружия и курдский вопрос. В ходе исследования выяснилось, что некоторые страны способствуют возрастанию конфликтного потенциала в регионе. Автор считает, что необходимо скорейшее разрешение кризисной ситуации в Сирии, так как происходящие события могут послужить импульсом к возникновению новых конфликтов в регионе и за его пределами. На основе проведенного исследования удалось выяснить, что деятельность России и Ирана направлена на снятие напряжения в регионе. Автору удалось также выявить основные противоречия между Россией и США в урегулировании конфликта в Сирии.

This study focuses on the Syrian crisis in trilateral relations among Russia, Iran and the United States. Within the framework of this study three global problems of a great interest that arose during the civil war in Syria were analyzed: the humanitarian crisis, the use of chemical weapons and the Kurdish question. This research also revealed and proved influence of particular countries on increasement of conflict potential in the region. Author of this study believes that such academic pursuits are ones of a huge necessity for a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Syria, as it can serve as an impetus to the emergence of new conflicts in the region and beyond. For instance, during this research the author figured out and showed that the activities of Russia and Iran aimed at removing the tension in the region. The author also managed to identify the main contradictions between Russia and the United States regarding conflict in Syria.
