dc.description.abstract | The article examines the trends and contradictions in the emerging world of natural gas market with an emphasis on the supply of Russian pipeline gas to the EU countries in the context of the economic security of the Russian Federation. Based on the characteristics of concepts of Nation, Economic, and Energy security are analyzed the degree of their incorporation into the Russian legislative framework. Authors analyze aggravation of the contradictions between the EU and Russia on pricing and transportation of Russian pipeline gas to Europe. Moreover, the ways and possibilities for overcoming the most destructive forms of these contradictions are also shown in the article. The entity, forms and methods of the US energy strategy for creating a global gas market are analyzed. Authors characterize the specifics of the functioning of the US gas market in this context and critically analyze attempts of the USA to force Russian gas out of the European market by increasing exports to Europe of its liquefied natural gas. In the article the state of the Russian gas industry is analyzed on the basis of the calculations of its main financial and economic indicators and the correlation coefficients are calculated between the indicators of energy security and the financial situation in the Russian gas sector in 2000–2016. | en_GB |
