Use and relevance of the expression of fear formulas in the characterization of the protagonist in Zakhar Prilepin’s novel “Pathologies”: Translator’s challenges

В магистерской диссертации рассматриваются трудности, которые могут вызвать у переводчика фрагменты романа Захара Прилепина «Патологии», содержащие эмоцию страха. Анализируется перевод двадцати семи фрагментов романа на испанский язык, выполненный Мартой Ребон. Для каждого случая неудачного перевода предлагается альтернативный вариант. Излагаются факторы, послужившие причиной неудачного перевода, и приводятся стратегии, помогающие его избежать.The master’s thesis examines the challenges of translating fragments of Zakhar Prilepin’s novel “Pathologies” which contain the emotion of fear. The work analyses twenty-seven fragments of the novel translated into Spanish by Marta Rebón. There are alternative options proposed for each case of an unsuccessful translation. The work involves an explanation of all the factors, which led to the unsuccessful translation and the strategies, which help to avoid them.
