Securitization of external threats in the course of parliamentary elections in the Kingdom of Sweden

Abstract

В работе исследуется процесс формирования нового уровня восприятия российской угрозы в Королевстве Швеция в период между 2014 и 2018 годами. Автор проводит комплексное исследование феномена предполагаемого российского вмешательства в парламентские выборы и его воздействия на российско-шведские отношения. Кроме того, в рамках работы изучается процесс цепной реакции принципов, позволяющей транслировать внешнеполитические опасения одного государства на другое. Автор анализирует контекст российско-шведских отношений, а также приводит хронологию секьюритизации российской угрозы. Опираясь на теоретические наработки Копенгагенской школы исследований безопасности, автор исследует процесс закрепления особого статуса за проблемой электоральной интервенции в рамках политического дискурса в Швеции.The research examines the development of a new level of perception of the Russian threat in the Kingdom of Sweden between 2014 and 2018. The author conducts a comprehensive study of the alleged Russian intervention in the parliamentary election and of the impact it had on Russian-Swedish relations. The study explores the process of a chain reaction of principles, the phenomenon that allows to project the foreign policy fears of one state onto another. The author analyzes the context of Russian-Swedish relations, and provides a chronology of the Russian threat securitization. Based on the theoretical developments of the Copenhagen School of Security Studies, the author explores the process of assigning a special status to the issue of electoral intervention within the framework of political discourse in Sweden.
