Abstract
This article contains text, translation and commentary records of the interrogation of Russian
prisoners in Dünaburg (1577) from National Archives of Sweden. These events took place during the
Livonian War (1558–1583). It was a war of Ivan the Terrible for the Baltic states. In 1577 Ivan the Terrible
went to the big march on Livonia ended taking almost 20 castles. Events in Dunaburg werea part of a
campaign in 1577. From the contents of the document, you can get some information about the structure of
the Russian army, the nature and direction of hostilities, the plague and measures to combat it, the strategic
plans of Ivan IV.
