Abstract
Настоящая работа посвящена переводу имен собственных в контексте локализации компьютерной игры. Исследование проведено на материале 1224 имен собственных, использованных в компьютерной ролевой игре «The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim», и их официальных русскоязычных переводов. Целью настоящей работы является изучение влияния лингвокультурного фактора на локализацию имени собственного в компьютерных играх. В ходе анализа были выявлены способы локализации имен собственных, использованных при локализации компьютерной ролевой игры «The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim», среди которых можно выделить транслитерацию, транскрипцию, калькирование. На выбор переводческой стратегии при локализации влияют смысловой, фонетический и лингвокультурный факторы, при этом последний может действовать в сочетании с остальными двумя факторами. Также был составлен список практических рекомендаций для локализаторов компьютерных игр.
This work is devoted to the translation of proper names in the context of the localisation of a computer game. The study was conducted on the material of 1224 proper names used in the computer role-playing game "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and their official Russian translations. The purpose of this work is to study the influence of the linguocultural factor on the localisation of a proper name in computer games. The analysis revealed ways of localising proper names used in the computer role-playing game "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim", among which one can distinguish transliteration, transcription and loan translation. The choice of a translation strategy for localisation is influenced by semantic, phonetic and linguocultural factors, the latter acting in combination with the other two factors. A list of practical recommendations for localizers of computer games was also compiled by the author.
