The Beat Generation in the USA in the 1940s - 1960s: The gender aspect

Работа посвящена изучению гендерных вопросов в "Разбитом поколении" - фундаменте американской послевоенной контркультуры 1950-1960-х годов. Основное внимание обращено на группу "женщин Разбитого поколения". В этой работе мы исследуем общее положение американских женщин после войны и гендерные конфликты внутри "Разбитого поколения". На материале мемуаров "женщин Разбитого поколения" мы анализируем новое отношение американок к вопросам семьи, брака, сексуальности, которое сделало "женщин Разбитого поколения" предшественницами второй волны феминизма.This research is devoted to studying of gender issues in the "Beat Generation" which is the base of the American post-war counterculture of the 1950-1960th years. The main emphasis is put on group of "Women of the Beat Generation". In this research we investigate the general provision of the American women after war, the gender conflicts in the "Beat Generation". On material of memoirs of "women of the Beat generation" we analyze the new attitude of Americans to questions of a family, marriage, sexuality which made "women of the Beat Generation" predecessors of the second wave of feminism.
