Contemporary Chinese writer Han Shaogong and his novel "A Maqiao Dictionary"

Abstract
В данной работе представлен анализ романа "Мацяоский словарь" в контексте творчества современного китайского писателя Хань Шаогуна. Чтобы произведение предстало в более объемном виде, в начале работы приведена биография Хань Шаогуна и анализ основных этапов его творчества. Далее была подробно рассмотрена полемика, известная под названием «Мацяоское дело», прокомментирована связь «Мацяоского словаря» с произведениями западной литературы и, наконец, дана характеристика романа как примера китайского постмодернизма, определено его значение для современной китайской литературы.
The paper offers the analysis of the novel “A dictionary of Maqiao” in the context of the creative work of its author, the modern Chinese writer Han Shaogong. In order to provide deeper understanding of the novel in the Chapter One we placed a biography of Han Shaogong and the analysis of the main stages of his creative activity. Further, the polemics known as the “Maqiao debate” was discussed in detail and the connections of “A dictionary of Maqiao” with the works of Czech-born French writer Milan Kundera were considered. Finally, we characterized the novel as an example of Chinese postmodernism and commented on its significance for the modern Chinese literature.
