Communicative and pragmatic features of game discourse modeling (using the example of the computer game Atomic Heart translations)

На сегодняшний день компьютерные видеоигры являются одним из самых ярких примеров локализуемых продуктов. Они перестали считаться простым развлечением, в связи с чем исследование процесса их разработки и анализ составляющих языковых средств является важным аспектом в сфере современной лингвистики и переводоведения, так как процесс локализации компьютерной игры находится на пересечении перевода технического продукта и художественного произведения. Локализация аудиовизуального контента имеет свои трудности, связанные с технической базой и культурной адаптацией. Каждый производитель видеоигры должен задуматься о её переводе на иностранные языки для продвижения на мировом рынке, а локализатор, в свою очередь, обязан определить, какие модели перевода игрового дискурса приведут к наилучшему результату в конкретном случае и не испортят игровой опыт пользователя, для которого важно качество материала.Today computer video games are one of the most prominent examples of localised products. They are no longer considered mere entertainment, and therefore the study of the process of their development and the analysis of the constituent linguistic means is a rather important aspect in the field of modern linguistics and translation studies, since the process of localisation of a computer game is at the intersection of the translation of a technical product and an artistic work. Localisation of audiovisual content has its own difficulties related to the technical component and cultural adaptation. Every video game producer should think about its translation into foreign languages to promote it on the world market, and the localiser in turn is obliged to determine which models of translation of game discourse will lead to the best result in a particular case and will not spoil the gaming experience of the user, for whom the quality of the material is important.
