The Late Soviet Period in the Views of Young People: a Comparative Analysis of the TV Series “Brigada” and “The Boy’s Word”

Abstract

Тема данной дипломной работы – «Поздний советский период в представлениях молодежи: сравнительный анализ сериалов «Бригада» и «Слово пацана»». В ее рамках были рассмотрены особенности репрезентации периода позднего СССР в двух сериалах, изучено понятие медиатизации и ее роли в формировании мнения молодых людей о выбранном периоде, выделены наиболее значимые аспекты жизни общества и его основные проблемы, а также проанализирован образ конструируемой сериалами советской действительности. Задачи исследования заключаются в анализе исторического и социального контекста позднесоветского периода, изучении теоретических основ медиатизации и исторической памяти, изучении теории и методологического инструментария контент-анализа и его применение для сравнения выбранных сериалов. Исходя из поставленных задач, в дипломной работе последовательно рассмотрены различные теории и подходы к анализу с целью выбора наиболее точно отвечающего целям исследования, и проведен сравнительный контент-анализ репрезентации компонентов жизни социума в сериалах «Бригада» и «Слово пацана».The topic of this diploma thesis is ‘The late Soviet period in the perceptions of young people: a comparative analysis of the TV series “ The Brigade” and “The Word of a Patsan”’. Within its framework, the features of representation of the late Soviet period in the two TV series were considered, the concept of mediatisation and its role in the formation of young people's opinion about the selected period were studied, the most meaningful aspects of society and its main problems were identified, and the image of the Soviet reality constructed by the TV series was analysed. The objectives of the study are to analyse the historical and social context of the late Soviet period, to study the theoretical foundations of mediatisation and historical memory, to study the theory and methodological tools of content analysis and its application to compare the selected TV series. Based on the set objectives, the thesis consecutively considers various theories and approaches to analysis in order to choose the one that most accurately meets the objectives of the study, and conducts a comparative content analysis of the representation of the components of social life in the TV series ‘’The Brigade‘’ and ‘’The Word of a Patsan‘’.
