The Variability of interallelic complementation in ade2 gene in diploid Sacchromyces

Abstract

The varieties of interallelic complementation ( IAC ) in different experiments and for different segregants of the hybrids carrying the same alleles of ade2 gene were studied. Varieties of IAC were compared for the particular alleles studied and for various compounds of the alleles (nonsense/nonsense, missense/nonsense, missense/missenee ). Matrices of IAC were constructed taking into the consideration the variability of IAC. Besides the traditional signs «+> and «-» a symbol “m” for variable complementation was introduced. The matrice obtained was converted into two complementation maps - the minimal and the maximal one. An analysis of specificity of IAC differences among the various compounds studied and also the investigation of both the minimal and maximal complementation maps were used to discuss some properties of the modificator genes involved.

Изучали изменение характера МАК в различных повторностях опытов и для различных сегрегантов одного и того же гибрида, несущих идентичные аллели гена ade2 . Сравнивали изменчивость МАК для отдельных аллелей и для компаундов аллелей различных типов (нонсенс/нонсенс, миссенс/нонсенс,миссенс/миссенс). При составлении матрицы МАК учитывали способность компаундов к изменению МАК; наряду с оценками «+» и *-» (наличие и отсутствие комплементации) использовали оценку «М» - изменчивая комплементация. По полученной матрице построены карта минимальной и карта максимальной комплементации.
