Peculiarities of distribution of Nephromopsis laureri (Kremp.) Kurok. in Leningrad Region

Abstract

Nephromopsis laureri (Kremp.) Kurok (Parmeliaceae) – листоватый эпифитный лишайник, широко распространённый в Евразии, часто предпочитает светлохвойные леса в горных районах. В Ленинградской области обнаружен 10 лет назад. В этом регионе вид находится на северо-западной границе ареала распространения и приурочен исключительно к старовозрастным ельникам. Исследование проведено с целью уточнения экологических предпочтений вида на границе ареала распространения. В задачи входило описание видового состава и условий сообществ, в которых обнаружен N. laureri, оценка состояния региональной части популяции, анализ фитоценотических предпочтений вида. Материал был собран в 2016 г. в Подпорожском районе, всего было обследовано 22 пробные площади и описано 326 отдельных таллома N. laureri. В Ленинградской области местонахождения N. laureri сосредоточены в северо-восточной части, где отмечены участки высокой плотности популяции в сфагновых ельниках. Показано, что вид предпочитает сообщества с медленнорастущими угнетёнными елями. Жизнеспособность популяции подтверждается большим количеством талломов, размер которых меньше среднего, без признаков некроза. Апотеции не обнаружены, основным способом размножения считается фрагментация, для которой этапом подготовки является появление некротических пятен. В работе приведены флористические данные по исследованным сообществам, всего обнаружено 147 видов, из которых 6 видов занесены в действующие красные книги Российской Федерации и Ленинградской области, 3 являются новыми для региона.

Nephromopsis laureri (Kremp.) Kurok (Parmeliaceae) is a foliose epiphytic lichen, that has a wide distribution in Eurasia and in the main part of range it prefers mountain light coniferous forests. It has been detected in the Leningrad region 10 years ego. The lichen is located on the north-western border of the range in this region and associated with old-growth spruce forests with sphagnum. The aim of our study has been to reconfirm ecology characteristics of the lichen on the border of the range. The objectives of the survey included: the description of the lichen distribution in the region, the characteristics of forests where N. laureri is found, the analysis of ecology preferences of the species, the condition estimation of the regional part of the population and the identification of the lichen species related to N. laureri. The field work has taken place in Podporozhsky district of Leningrad region in 2016. Altogether, 22 sample plots have been examined and 326 thalluses of N. laureri have been described. The species locations in the Leningrad region are concentrated in the north-eastern part of the region (in the north of the Podporozhsky district). The high population intensity localities have been found in spruce forests with sphagnum. We have concluded that the species prefers forests with low-growth suppressed trees. The stability of the population is confirmed by the large percentage of less than average size thalli that has small necrotic spots or doesn’t have any. No apothecia have been found. The main way of reproduction is fragmentation. The list of species of investigated forests is included in the work. Almost 147 species have been identified, including 6 species in red list of Red book of the Russian Federation and Leningrad region and 3 species have been found for the first time in this region.
