Abstract

Выбранная тема диплома - Орландо-роман, написанный английской писательницей Вирджинией Вульф . Эта фантастическая история охватывает период более 300 лет, в которой главный герой - Орландо достигает лишь 36 лет и посреди романа превращается в женщину. Роман затрагивает темы самопознания, вопросы истины и значимости пола. Композиция моих эскизов представляет собой форму часов- достаточно простой метафоры течения времени, что является одной из тем произведения. Века проходят, один сезон сменяет другой и каждый эскиз показывает произошедшие изменения.В моей работе я хотела сохранить виденье автора, используя смешение стилей из различных временных эпох, при этом отражая модернистское ощущение от прочтения романа.Период охватывает множество художественных стилей, жанров, различных социальных структур и полярно различных этических установок. В своих работах я постаралась воплотить то, что больше всего вдохновило меня в произведении - взаимосвязь личности человека и культурного периода, влияние моралей и окружения на самосознание, мироощущение человека и отражение субъективного восприятия мира в окружающим его пространстве . В концепцию эскизов я постаралась включить особенности модернизма и постмодернизма, заключённые в метафорах лабиринта, лестниц, часов. Техника «потока сознания и внутреннего монолога, присущая модернисткой литературе создает алогичное нагромождение образов, которые я старалась перенести на холст. Книга полна художественных образов, аллегорий, символизма и я постаралась запечатлеть их на своих эскизах. Ломая перспективу в интерьерах и экстерьерах осознанно, я старалась подчеркнуть зыбкость мироощущения Орландо на некоторых этапах ее/его жизни, показать, как мир меняется в зависимости от его/ее восприятия. Я использовала необычные цвета в определенных эскизах чтобы передать отличную от других эскизов атмосферу, отделить их по настроению. Я предприняла попытку создать гармоничное впечатление от эскизов в целом, несмотря на большой промежуток времени, который затрагивает роман и при этом сохранить художественное виденье писателя. Связать эпохи стилистически мне удалось с помощью стилистических компонентов модернистского и пост - модернистского стилей.

The theme I have chosen is from the Book – Play " Orlando " - a novel written by English writer Virginia Wolf. This fantastic story spans over 300 years and during this time, the protagonist, Orlando, ages only thirty-six years and changes gender from man to a woman. The novel touches on issues of self- knowledge and gender. Nowadays the issue of a gender is relevant and important as never before. The whole composition of all of my works represents a shape of a clock - a simple metaphor of a stream of time. Centuries are passing by and time goes season by season. And every picture shows the changing. I wanted my project to carry the vision of the book and combine several visual styles from different centuries and reflect a modernistic feel of the novel."Orlando" transitions through a period of 5 centuries from (16 to 21) therefore it includes several vastly different visual styles, writing stiles, mores, social structures and ethical statements. In my concept, I have tried to link all the elements of my design to modernist and post-modernist metaphors such as labyrinths, stairs and clocks.The modernist way of writing called «technique of a mind flow» and internal dialogs create alogical conglomeration of imageries which I tried to fix in my works. All of the principals helps to reveal the complexity of the Virginia Woolf’s world.The story is full of allegories, symbolism and imagery. I tried to imprint it in my sheets. I broke architectural perspective in my interiors and exteriors for purpose to emphasize the wobbliness of the Orlando's world, to show how it changes because of the her/his perception.I used peculiar colors in the some of the pictures due to separate them atmospherically and visually. The chosen method of the concept building was based on the importance of the author 's way of the storytelling. The coherence of the novel is lineal but it has special strong writer’s attitude what gives a new layers to the text.I have integrated what inspired me in this key design idea - connection between a person and a place and how the perception of the world varies depending on cultural period and social mores. I truly believe that what I have achieved with the design reflect my initial concept. I managed to bound different styles of different centuries with the modernist and postmodernist clues.
