Means of expressing agreement and disagreement in the scientific methodology discourse as illustrated by S. F. Shatilov's, A. N. Shchukin's and E. I. Passov's works

Abstract

Категория согласия/несогласия является актуальной как для повседневного речевого общения, так и для других типов дискурса, однако вопрос о способах выражения данной категории в научном тексте пока не получил должного освещения в научной литературе, как остаются малоизученными и способы выражения согласия/несогласия в языке методики. С целью выявления того, чем определяется выбор языковых средств выражения согласия/несогласия в научно-методическом дискурсе, в данной работе был рассмотрен научный стиль в аспекте функциональной стилистики, жанры научного стиля, влияние языковой личности на создаваемый ею текст, а также особенности научной полемики. Был проведен анализ языка трудов С. Ф. Шатилова, А. Н. Щукина и Е. И. Пассова – ученых, оказавших большое влияние на развитие современной методики. Именно их труды и стали материалом настоящего исследования. Анализ показал, что степень выраженности категории согласия / несогласия находится в зависимости от коммуникативно-смыслового блока текста и логической организации содержания текста, его композиции. Кроме того, специфика выражения категории согласия/несогласия обусловлена индивидуальными чертами идиостиля ученого, через которые преломляются требования к определенному жанру и его письменная реализация. Наконец, проведенное исследование научных произведений Е. И. Пассова позволило сделать вывод об их принадлежности к научно-публицистическому подстилю как разновидности научного стиля.

he category of agreement / disagreement is relevant for everyday colloquial speech as well as for other types of discourse, but the question of how to express this category in the scientific texts and in the language of methodology has not been adequately covered yet. In order to identify what determines the choice of linguistic means of expressing agreement / disagreement in the scientific and methodological discourse, in this work the scientific style in the aspect of functional stylistics, the genres of the scientific style, the influence of the linguistic personality on the text created by it, as well as the features of scientific controversy were considered. An analysis of the language of the works of S. F. Shatilov, A. N. Shchukin, and E. I. Passov (scientists who exerted a great influence on the development of modern methods) was carried out; texts created by them became the material of this study. The analysis showed that the degree of expression of the agreement / disagreement category is dependent on the communicative and semantic block of the text and the logical organization of the content of the text. Also, the specificity of the expression of the category of agreement / disagreement is due to the individual features of the idiostyle of the scientist, through which the requirements for a particular genre and his written implementation are refracted. Finally, a study of E. I. Passov's scientific works made it possible to conclude that they belonged to the scientific-journalistic sub-type as a variety of scientific style.
