Ethno-confessional situation in the Arab world: Origin and future development

Abstract

Today the ethno-confessional situation in the Near East is extremely dynamic. It presupposes the structure of the book as a combination of micro- and macro-analysis to get a deeper insight into the current state of affairs and prospects for development in the Near East. Instead of coverage of “all the material we possess” it focuses on case-study approach (on the examples of contemporary Yemen and Sudan). The study guide comprises also the questions for self-study.

Сегодня этноконфессиональная ситуация на Ближнем Востоке чрезвычайно динамична, поэтому для лучшего понимания истоков и перспектив сложившегося положения учебный курс строится на сочетании макро- и микроанализа, т. е. вместо экстенсивного охвата «всего материала» акцент делается на кейс-анализе конкретных ситуаций (на примере современного Йемена и Судана). В пособие включены также вопросы, задания и тексты на арабском языке для самостоятельной работы студентов-старшекурсников.
