Contemporary flashpoint journalism: A case study of the Russian television

От того, насколько объективны и точны будут его данные, может зависеть представление аудитории о происходящем в зоне вооруженного конфликта, что формирует и отношение к противоборствующим сторонам. Научная новизна данного исследования заключается в том, что оно посвещено продолжающемуся вооруженному конфликту на востоке Украины. Направления исследований по указанной теме пока только формируются. В то же время эта тема требует постоянного внимания исследователей. Все это обеспечивает новизну представляемой ВКР. Целью данной работы является выявление специфики освещения вооруженных конфликтов российскими тележурналистами, определить перечень наиболее часто встречающихся нарушений профессиональной этики, а также разработать рекомендации для журналистов-практиков. Для достижения цели были поставлены следующие задачи: 1) выделить комплекс норм, регулирующих этическое поведение тележурналиста; 2) рассмотреть этические требования и ограничения при освещении тележурналистом вооруженных конфликтов; 3) сравнить традиции освещения экстремальных ситуаций и определить современные тенденции; 4) выявить нарушения профессиональной этики в телерепортажах о вооруженном конфликте на востоке Украины (2014-2015гг.) Объектом данного исследования стало телевидение, как средство массовой информации, активно освещающее вооруженные конфликты, предметом исследования стали нормы и отклонения от этических норм в работе телевизионных журналистов. Теоретико-методологическую базу формируют фундаментальные отечественные и зарубежные исследования журналистики, СМИ и телевидения. Среди них работы Д.С. Авраамова, Г.В. Лазутиной, Н.Л. Волковского, В.М. Амирова, Г.Г.Почепцова, М.А.Бережной, М. А. Мельникова. Эмпирическая база работы состоит из телевизионных новостных репортажей программы «Сегодня» (НТВ)» и программ «Сейчас» (Пятый канал) за 2014-2015 год. Методологической основой работы являются такие методы исследования как наблюдение, сопоставительный анализ, экспертное интервью. Структура. Работа содержит две главы. В первое главе, состоящей из трёх параграфов, изучается понятие «профессиональная этика», этические нормы и стандарты, принятые в журналистском сообществе. Во второй главе в трёх параграфах исследуются причины возникновения этических нарушений и сравниваются телевизионные репортажи, вышедшие в эфире телеканалов «НТВ» и «Пятый канал».

The applicability of the topic selected is due to the fact that modern media play a significant role in shaping the public opinion. The quality and objectivity of their data will influence the views of the public on what is happening in the zone of conflict and will shape the opinion of the public towards the sides of the conflict. The scientific novelty of the present research consists in the analysis of the ongoing armed conflict in the Eastern Ukraine. The avenues researched in this field are only taking form at this moment. At the same time, this topic requires constant attention on the part of researchers. All this ensures the novelty of the presented final graduation project. The goal of this project is the definition of specificity of the coverage of armed conflict by Russian journalists, analysis of the most commonly encountered cases of violation of professional ethics as well as the development of recommendations for journalists on the ground. The following tasks have been set in order to achieve the aforementioned goals: 1) To define the complex of norms regulating the ethical conduct of a television journalist; 2) To review the ethical requirements and restrictions acting in case of coverage of an armed conflict by a television journalist; 3) To compare traditions of coverage of emergency situations and determine the modern trends; 4) To reveal the violations of professional ethics in TV reports on the armed conflict in the Eastern Ukraine (2014-2015). The Subject of the present research was the television itself as a mass media actively involved in coverage of the armed conflict situations. The Scope of the present research was the norms and deviations from ethical norms in the work of television journalists. The theoretical and methodological framework of the project is established by basic domestic and foreign works in the field of research of journalism, the mass media and television, among which should be noted the works of D.S. Avraamov, G.V. Lazutina, N.L. Volkovskiy, V.M. Amirov, G.G. Pocheptsov, M.A. Berezhnaya and M.A. Melnikov. The empirical framework of the project consists of the televised news reports of the program «Segodnya» (“Today”) (NTV channel), as well as the extracts of programs «Seichas» (“Now”) (The Fifth channel) for years 2014-2015. The methodological basis of the project was formed by such methods as observation, comparative analysis and expert interviews. Structure. The project consists of two chapters. The first chapter of three paragraphs analyses the terms «professional ethics», the ethical norms and standards of the assumed by the journalist community. The second chapter of three paragraphs provides a comparative analysis of televised reports aired on the NTV and the Fifth TV channels.
