Corporate IT Product Development Strategy at Company X

Abstract

Развитие IT-продуктов - одно из стратегических направлений деятельности компаний. Существует множество методологий и фреймворков для разработки внешних продуктов, предназначенных для продажи. Однако есть и другой тип важных продуктов, которые разрабатывают многие компании. Это внутренние ИТ-продукты, которые направлены на оптимизацию внутренних бизнес-процессов. Внутренние продукты имеют свои особенности, и руководители должны учитывать их при разработке стратегий по их совершенствованию и управлению в целом. Данная работа посвящена разработке рекомендаций по стратегическому развитию внутренних ИТ-продуктов. Работа состоит из 3 глав: теоретической части, которая содержит теоретические основы управления продуктами, управления портфелем продуктов и различия подходов к управлению внешними и внутренними продуктами; аналитической части, которая содержит анализ компании, анализ внешней среды, портфельный анализ, анализ эффективности продуктов и заключение. Были использованы такие методики, как портфельный анализ, анализ разрывов, анализ жизненного цикла, матрица Arthur D. Little и анализ рисков. Данные были собраны из открытых источников, научных статей и внутренних документов компании, а также в результате проведения интервью с экспертами компании.

IT products development is one of the strategic activities of companies. There are plenty of methodologies and frameworks for developing external product, that are designed for sale. However, there is another type of important products that a lot of companies develop. These are internal IT products which aim to optimize internal business processes. Internal products have their peculiarities and managers should consider them when developing strategies for their enhancement and management in general. This work is devoted to developing recommendations for internal IT products strategic development. The paper consists of 3 chapters: the theoretical part, which contains the theoretical basis of product management, product portfolio management and the differences of approaches to managing external and internal products, the analysis part, which contains the analysis of company, external environment analysis, portfolio analysis, analysis of products performance and the conclusion. The methodologies that were used are portfolio canvas, gap-analysis, lifecycle analysis, Arthur D. Little Matrix and risk analysis. The data used was gathered from open sources, scientific articles and from the company's inner documents as well as from conducting interviews with experts from the company.
