Military-Political Dimension of the Arctic Policy of Sweden, Finland and Denmark in the 21st Century

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа посвящена военно-политическому измерению арктической политики Швеции, Финляндии и Дании в XXI веке. Автором была сделана попытка выявить приоритеты исследуемых стран в осуществлении политики в Арктическом регионе. Также в работе представлен прогноз о перспективах сотрудничества государств в военно-политической сфере в Арктике. Для выполнения поставленных задач были изучены арктические стратегии указанных стран, одобренные за последние 20 лет, а также особенности их политики безопасности. Кроме того, в работе приведен анализ проблем и перспектив текущей военно-политической активности государств в Арктике. Автор приходит к выводу, что Арктика привлекает все большее внимание международного сообщества, и политика Швеции, Финляндии и Дании в регионе также становится все более активной. Отмечается, что сотрудничество данных стран является для них взаимовыгодным, и в ближайшем будущем возможна его интенсификация.

The qualifying paper is devoted to the military-political dimension of the Arctic policy of Sweden, Finland and Denmark in the 21st century. The author made an attempt to identify the priorities of these countries in the policies implementation in the Arctic region. The paper also presents a forecast on the prospects for cooperation between the states in the military-political sphere in the Arctic. To accomplish the objectives, the Arctic strategies of these countries approved over the past 20 years, as well as the features of their security policy, were studied. In addition, the paper provides the problems and prospects analysis of the current military-political activity of the states in the Arctic. The author comes to the conclusion that the Arctic is attracting more and more attention of the international community, and the policy of Sweden, Finland and Denmark in the region is also becoming more active. It is noted that the cooperation of these countries is mutually beneficial for them, and its intensification is possible in the near future.
