The political geography of Japan: experience in political and geographical zoning

Abstract

Япония представляет интерес исследователю, поскольку в ней стал возможен некоторый органический синтез западного и восточного обществ, что нашло своё отражение во многих сферах, в том числе и в территориально-политической структуре данной страны. Японский опыт, в частности функционирования муниципалитетов, может быть переосмыслен и применён в российской действительности, а понимание целей и идеологии региональных элит и основных партий поможет выстроить руководству нашей страны оптимальные отношения с данной страной. В научной литературе не существует сколько-нибудь проработанного политико-географического районирования современной Японии, и автор настоящей работы делает попытку восполнить этот пробел, предложив собственную сетку районирования с выделением интегральных регионов и районов разных иерархического уровней. Для выделения районов были проведены работы по исследованию, обобщению и типологизации морских и внутренних границ Японии, территориальной дифференциации региональных элит и политических партий в нижнюю палату парламента. Исследование охватывает промежуток времени с начала 2000 по конец 2021 гг.

Japan is of interest to the researcher, since some organic synthesis of Western and eastern societies has become possible in it, which has been reflected in many areas, including the territorial and political structure of this country. The Japanese experience, in particular the functioning of municipalities, can be rethought and applied in Russian reality, and understanding the goals and ideology of regional elites and major parties will help the leadership of our country to build optimal relations with this country. There is no well-developed political and geographical zoning of modern Japan in the scientific literature, and the author of this work makes an attempt to fill this gap by proposing his own zoning grid with the allocation of integral regions and districts of different hierarchical levels. To identify the areas, work was carried out on the study, generalization and typologization of the maritime and internal borders of Japan, territorial differentiation of regional elites and political parties in the lower house of parliament. The study covers the period from the beginning of 2000 to the end of 2021.
