The Apocryphal Acts of the Apostle Peter and its version in the Chronicle of George Amartol

Данное исследование посвящено описанию содержательных особенностей текста апокрифических Деяний апостола Петра, который содержится в Хронике Георгия Амартола, и поискам вероятного источника или источников, из которых этот текст попал в Хронику. Материалом для работы послужили четыре издания: греческий текст Хроники – по изданию C. de Boor «Georgii Monachi chronicon». За текстами, использованными при сопоставлении с фрагментом, за исключением «Деяний Петра с Симоном», обращались к изданию Eastman David L. «The ancient martyrdom accounts of Peter and Paul». «Деяния Петра с Симоном» – по изданию Lipsius Richard A., Bonnet M. «Acta apostolorum apokryphae pars prior. Leipzig: Hermann Mendelsohn». Произведения раннехристианских авторов – по изданиям в серии Sources Сhrétiennes. Путем сопоставления сюжета апокрифических Деяний Петра с сюжетами четырех апокрифических Деяний и мартириев на древнегреческом и латинском языках было выявлено некоторое сходство с Acta Petri (II в.), на основании которого можно предположить непрямую зависимость рассматриваемого текста от них. Вторая часть исследования посвящена сравнению апокрифических Деяний в Хронике с произведениями раннехристианской литературы II-III вв., а если точнее, с Гомилиями Оригена на книгу Бытия и антигностическим сочинением Иринея Лионского «Против ересей». Результат сравнения обнаружил явное сходство между экзегезой Оригена и толковательной традицией книги Бытия, которой придерживается апостол Петр в Хронике. Тем не менее, сходство это неполное, что иллюстрирует изменения библейской экзегезы, которые произошли с ней менее чем за век. Сопоставление гностической аргументации Симона-Волхва в Хронике с описанием его учения у Иринея Лионского демонстрирует неполноту апокрифических Деяних по отношению к «Против ересей» во всем, что касается теории гностицизма и, напротив, «Против ересей» не дает никакой информации об интересующей нас экзегетической традиции, представленной в Хронике. На данном этапе исследования стала совершенно очевидна уникальность АД, вошедших в состав ХГА, и обусловленная уникальностью ценность этого текста. Достойным продолжением этого исследования стал бы поиск его связи непосредственно с сочинениями гностиков, которые с недавнего времени стали доступны.

This paper deals with the content features of the apocryphal Acts of the Apostle Peter included in the Chronicle of George Amartol and with the search of the probable source or sources from which this text appeared in the Chronicle. The material for this work is four editions: the Greek text of the Chronicle by C. de Boor "Georgii Monachi chronicon". For the texts used in the comparison with the fragment, except for "The Acts of Peter and Simon", we used Eastman David L. "The ancient martyrdom accounts of Peter and Paul". "The Acts of Peter with Simon" is from Lipsius Richard A., Bonnet M. "Acta apostolorum apokryphae pars prior. Leipzig: Hermann Mendelsohn". The comparison of the plot of the Apocryphal Acts of Peter with four Apocryphal Acts and Martyrdoms in Ancient Greek and Latin shows a certain similarity to the Acta Petri (II century), which allows us to suppose an indirect relation between this text and them. The second part of the study focuses on the analysis of the apocryphal Acts of the Chronicle in comparison with the of early Christian literature of the II-III centuries, to be more precise, with Origen's Homilies on Genesis and Irenaeus of Lyon's Antignostic writings "Against Heresies". The result of the comparison demonstrates a clear similarity between Origen's exegesis and the interpretative tradition of Genesis which the Apostle Peter follows in the Chronicle. Nevertheless, this similarity is partial, which illustrates the changes in biblical exegesis that have happened to it in less than a century. The collation of the Gnostic argumentation of Simon the Magician in the Chronicle with the description of his teaching by Irenaeus of Lyon demonstrates the lack of information about the theory of Gnosticism in the apocryphal Acts compared to Against Heresies and, on the contrary, Against Heresies provides no information about the exegetical tradition presented in the Chronicle. At this stage of the research, the originality of the apocryphal Acts of Peter included in the Chronicle of George Amartol, as well as the value of this text, has become quite evident. A worthy continuation of this study would be to search for its relation specifically to the gnostic writings, which have recently become available.
