The Trump administration policy in the Northern Triangle countries: Case studies of El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala

Данная работа посвящена актуальной теме политики США – отношениям со странами «северного треугольника» Центральной Америки (Сальвадор, Гватемала и Гондурас) в период пребывания на посту президента Дональда Трампа. В работе анализируются основные особенности стран региона, интересы Соединённых Штатов в сотрудничестве со странами «северного треугольника», а также увеличение влияния Китая и России. Большое внимание уделяется одной из ключевых проблем – увеличению миграции из Сальвадора, Гватемалы и Гондураса в США. С приходом Дональда Трампа в Белый дом подходы к взаимодействию со странами региона и решению проблем изменились и результаты деятельности президента могут привести к неоднозначным последствиям.

The paper is devoted to the timely subject of the U.S. policy which is relations with the Northern Triangle countries of Central America (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras) in the period of the presidency of Donald Trump. The examined issues include the main features of the three countries, the U.S. interests in cooperation with the Northern Triangle, the increasing influence of China and Russia. One of the key topics of the research is increasing migration from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to the United States. Approaches to interaction with the countries of the region have changed with the arrival of Donald Trump at the White House, and the results of the President's activities can lead to uncertain consequences.
