Financial systems features of emerging markets

Abstract

Выпускная квалификационная работа «Особенности финансовых систем в странах с формирующимся рынком» выполнена на актуальную тему, поскольку анализ финансовых систем и оценка их развития в странах с формирующимся рынком необходимы для того, чтобы данные страны могли добиться прогресса в развитии методов финансового обеспечения и содействовать устойчивому экономическому развитию. Кроме того, страны с формирующимся рынком являются очень привлекательными для зарубежных инвесторов и, в связи с этим, исследование может служить основой для принятия ими инвестиционных решений.

Цель исследования состояла в том, чтобы выделить особенности финансовых систем в странах с формирующимся рынком.

В соответствии с поставленной целью, в работе были решены следующие задачи: систематизированы существующие научные представления о терминологии, типах и функциях финансовых систем; раскрыто содержание международных классификаций стран и даны характеристики основных подходов к анализу и оценке финансовых систем; обоснована и апробирована методика оценки финансовых систем в странах с формирующимся рынком (на примере менее развитых стран группы).

Практически значимым результатом выпускной квалификационной работы является разработанная методика оценки финансовых систем, апробированная в отношении стран с менее развитым формирующимся рынком, включая Российскую Федерацию. Оценка финансовых систем, построенная путем последовательного анализа финансовых рынков и финансовых институтов, предлагается автором в качестве дополнительного инструмента для формирования общего представления об уровне финансового развития в данных странах, принятия финансовых и управленческих решений заинтересованными лицами.

The subject of the diploma thesis «Characteristics of the financial systems in the emerging economies» is relevant since the analysis of the financial systems and assessment of their development in the emerging economies are crucial in order for those countries to make progress in financial engineering techniques and promote the sustainable economic development. Besides, the emerging economies are very attractive to the foreign investors and thus the study could serve as a basis for their investment decisions.

The main objective of the study was to highlight the specificities of the financial systems in the emerging economies.

In compliance with the intended objective, the following aspect of the research were covered: the present scientific understandings of the terminology, types and functions of the financial systems were systematized; the contents of the international classifications of countries were disclosed and the characteristics of the main approaches to the analysis and assessment of the financial systems provided; the methodology of financial systems assessment was justified and tested, based on the example of less developed emerging economies.

The practical outcome of the diploma thesis is the methodology of financial systems assessment, tested for the group of less developed emerging economies, including Russian Federation. Financial systems assessment, built as a step-by-step analysis of the financial markets and financial institutions, is suggested to be considered as a supplementary tool for shaping the overall expectations of the degree of financial development in the aforementioned countries, and for financial and management decision-making by stakeholders.
