The Housewife's Status Transformation in the XIX-XXI centuries. The Linguistic-Cultural Aspect

Abstract

Настоящая работа посвящена проблеме трансформации социального статуса HOUSEWIFE в период с XIX века (викторианская эпоха) по XXI век. Работа состоит из введения, двух глав, заключения и списка литературы. В первой главе представлен обзор работ, посвященных изучению социального статуса личности в рамках социолингвистики, когнитивной лингвистики, социологии и философии. Во второй главе представлен анализ семантической структуры слова “housewife”, на основе которого были выявлены прототипические свойства концепта HOUSEWIFE. В данной главе также описана структура концепта HOUSEWIFE в XIX-XXI вв. и представлен сравнительно-сопоставительный анализ когнитивных блоков концепта HOUSEWIFE в викторианскую эпоху и в современном обществе.

The present investigation is devoted to the study of the social status HOUSEWIFE transformation in the XIX (Victorian period) – XXI centuries. The present paper consists of the introduction, two chapters, the conclusion and references. The first chapter focuses on an exploration of social status in sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, sociology and philosophy. The analysis of the semantic structure of the word ‘housewife’ presented in the second chapter reveals the prototypical characteristics of the concept HOUSEWIFE. The structure of this concept in the XIX-XXI centuries and the comparative analysis of the concept cognitive blocks in the Victorian era and in the modern society are also described in the second chapter.
