Non-equivalent and background vocabulary in the story by A. Chekhov "Man in a Case"

Abstract

Исследование посвящено особенностям перевода безэквивалентной и фоновой лексики в литературных произведениях на примере рассказа А.П. Чехова «Человек в футляре». При переводе литературных произведений важно понимать социальный, исторический и культурный контекст для правильной передачи смысловой нагрузки произведения. На примере различных переводов безэквивалентной и фоновой лексики с русского на китайский язык были сопоставлены способы перевода в китайско-русских словарях и при художественном переводе.

The study is devoted to the peculiarities of the translation of non-equivalent and background vocabulary in literary works on the example of the story of A.P. Chekhov's "Man in the Shell". When translating literary works, it is important to understand the social, historical and cultural context in order to correctly convey the message of the work. The methods of translation in Chinese-Russian dictionaries and in literary translation were compared.
