Diagnosis of bruxism at dental checkup and guidelines for prosthetic treatment

Abstract

Бруксизм является одной из самых распространенных и наименее изученных проблем стоматологии XXI века, прогноз даже качественно изготовленных реставраций и безупречных работ ухудшается при наличии данной патологии. В связи с чем мы посвятили нашу работу диагностике бруксизма в клинической практике врача-стоматолога с целью повышения эффективности ортопедического лечения. Был использован метод анкетирования и доказано, что он является первичным методом выявления бруксизма. Также в ходе исследования получены и обработаны данные о частоте встречаемости парафункции жевательных мышц среди студентов факультета стоматологии и медицинских технологий СПбГУ.

Bruxism is one of the most common and least studied problems of dentistry of the 21st century, the prognosis of even well-made restorations and flawless works worsens in the presence of this pathology. In this connection, we dedicated our work to the diagnosis of bruxism in the dental clinical practice in order to increase the effectiveness of prosthetic treatment. The method of questioning was used and it was proved that it is the primary method of identifying bruxism. Also in the course of the study, the data of the parafunction frequency occurrence of the masticatory muscles among students of the Faculty of Dentistry and Medical Technologies of Saint Petersburg State University were obtained and processed.
