Framework development for assessing benefits from IT investment

Abstract

The goal of the master thesis was to propose a new approach toward benefits assessment from IT investment. In order to gain the understanding about the topic the qualitative method was chosen. Research was made on the example of the military-industrial company operating in Russian Federation. Five interviews were conducted in order to study the decision-making process of IT investment and identify benefits, which were taking into consideration during this process. On the basis of thorough literature review, framework for assessing benefits from IT investment was developed, justification of the framework was proven on the examples of IT investments made by studied company.
