Children's prose of Isaiah Rakhtanov

Abstract

В диссертации рассматриваются особенности детской прозы малоизученного писателя И. А. Рахтанова. В работе обобщены биографические сведения о писателе и составлен биографический очерк, при этом задействован ряд архивных материалов, не введённых в научный оборот; дан обзор детской прозы писателя. Проведен текстологический анализ двух редакций первой детской повести Рахтанова «Чин-Чин-Чайнамен и Бонни Сидней»; предпринята попытка объяснить причины найденных изменений. Анализ показал, что при подготовке второй редакции повести писатель провел существенную переработку материала, уделив значительное внимание деталям, мотивированности событий и увлекательности сюжета. Полученные результаты позволяют проследить трансформацию мировоззрения и творческой манеры И Рахтанова. В заключении предложены направления для дальнейшего исследования творчества писателя.

This master thesis deals with the features of the children prose authored by the unexplored writer Isaiah Rahtanov's. First chapter presents biographic summary based on the collected information, that also includes previously unpublished archive data, and the overview of author's prose for children. Second and Third chapters provides the textological comparison for two editions of the first author's children novel "Chin-chin-chinamen and Bonny Sindney", attempt to explain reasons that determined discovered changes is also presented. Analysis has shown that during his work on the second edition I. Rahtanov altered significant part of the novel, focusing mostly on details, consistency of main events and overall story attractiveness. Results of the study allows to trace evolution of author's ideology and his literature manner. In the conclusion several directions of future research are suggested.
