The place of the second (nasal) class verbs in the Proto-Slavic verbal system in reference to the Indo-European languages

Abstract

Работа посвящена семантически разнородной группе старославянских глаголов II (назального) класса, их происхождению и положению в системе старославянского языка. Решение вопросов происхождения невозможно на материале только славянских языков и только методами внутренней реконструкции, поэтому одной из задач исследования стало выявление места назальных глаголов в системах других индоевропейских языков. В процессе исследования выявлены следы прежней системы, названной протоиндоевропейской. Часть назальных глаголов старославянского языка может возводиться к этой гипотетической системе.

The work is devoted to the semantically diverse groups of Old Slavonic second (nasal) class verbs, their origin and position in the Old Slavonic language system. The solution of questions of origin is impossible on the basis of only Slavic languages and only by methods of internal reconstruction, therefore, one of the research tasks was to identify the place of nasal verbs in systems of other Indo-European languages. In the process of investigation were found the traces of the former system, called the Proto-Indo-European. Part of the nasal verbs of the Old Slavonic language can be raised to this hypothetical system.
