Entrepreneurial framework conditions in emerging economies: Evidence from GEM data

Abstract

In this paper the influence of Entrepreneurial Framework Condition on the entrepreneurial activity is analyzed. The study is focused on the emerging economies. Factors influencing the entrepreneurial activity during the period from 2006 to 2011 are analyzed on the basis of GEM data. Hypotheses were formulated and tested on the base of 13 countries of emerging economies. The study concludes that the correlation analysis and regression model explains the dependence between entrepreneurship activity and factors from Entrepreneurial Framework Conditions. The analysis showed that four factors influenced the level of entrepreneurial activity positively and one factor, influencing negatively. The research brings practical implications for the potential entrepreneurs and for also for policy makers. Also, this study may brings benefit for those entrepreneurs who are planning to deal with companies from emerging economies as it showed the main problems of emerging economies as well as factors, which influence the entrepreneurial activity in these countries.
