Краткий осмотр (реферат): With the emergence of discussion platforms like Twitter, the hopes rose that computer-mediated public sphere would become more even in access to discussion than mass-mediatized public sphere of the late 20th century. Scholars have argued that it will eventually form an ‘opinion crossroads’ where conflicts would be discussed by all the parties involved. But today, existing research provides mixed evidence on whether ordinary users, rather than mainstream media and institutional actors, can become influencers in discussions on current issues, e.g. relations between host and migrant communities. We focus on the Twitter discussion about an inter-ethnic conflict in Moscow’s Biryuliovo district in 2013, as well as the comparative ‘calm’ period in March 2014, and look at who were real influencers by reconstructing the discussion’s web graph, as well as analyzing and juxtaposing its metrics to figures indicating user activity. Our results show that ad hoc discussion differs dramatically from an issue-based one in terms of the influencer nature and composition; the role of active tweeting is questioned. We also show that nationalist accounts play a much bigger role than expected in both periods.2016-01-01T00:00:00ZEditorial policy in the opinion agenda of general interest newspaper

Краткий осмотр (реферат): The study analyzes the newspapers of general interest editorial stance. On the example of national
daily “El Pais” the authors define the role of the editorial column as the main tool of the newspaper
editorial policy expression. The analysis has taken into account themes, topics, diversity, geographic
wideness, values highlighted in editorials. Sixty editorials were analyzed to determine the
homogeneity or heterogeneity of the topics. El Pais editorial policy is reviewed in the framework
of the Prisa media group professional policy and social mission as well as the El Pais Editorial
code professional values. The results reveal the unbalanced proportions in political, social, cultural
an economic themes, inconsistency of the list of countries in the opinion agenda to the positioning
of the newspaper as a global issue, the predominance of national events in the editorial agenda.2016-07-28T00:00:00ZTransnational Companies and Local Communities: Aspects in Informational Interaction

Краткий осмотр (реферат): The region of South-Eastern Europe is unique in that it can demonstrate us all the stages of democratic transition, starting from the first democratic reforms in the 90s of XX century and down to accession to the European Union. The article describes the transformation occurred in the media systems of Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Serbia, and also the main results achieved in the process of democratic transition are revealed. The South-Eastern European media are focused on covering political life, their political involvement is much stronger than in other European countries. As a result the media became an instrument of the political power, today it is hard to draw a line between political and journalistic activity. Another problem is the high level of political extremism in mass media. The article also describes the negative effects that currently hinder the integration of the media in the studied countries into the European information space. Краткий осмотр (реферат): Several theories and researches of social science and liberal arts have been analyzed to define their place in defining specifics of cross-cultural communication. Classification of theories and comparison of research results allow making conclusions about correlation between media and social and political institutions. Today researches of ethnic-social relations in Internet may be separated into several groups by some principles. First one is researches that study ethnic nature and ethnic-social relations via texts, and works based on the study of ethnic affiliation via metadata. The second one is between research of ethnic character on the base of study of text and representation of users. Works covering the process of forming “cyberidentity” (including ethnic) should be separated from research where discourse ethnic character is considered “equal to itself” (“Russian” in Internet is equal to “Russian” beyond the net).2015-01-01T00:00:00ZMedia Systems of South-Eastern Europe in the Condition of Democratic Transition: The Example of Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia

As a part of the comparative analysis of the codes of the journalism organizations of the two countries, we identify factors affecting the adoption and contents of the documents and the approaches to the regulation of different areas of professional activity which were reflected in these documents. The author applies the method of historical study (comparative historical method), the logical method of a comparative analysis of documents, i.e., the codes of professional ethics (the attention is paid both to substantive and quantitative aspects), elements of the situation analysis. The key issues addressed in the article include the legal, political and professional traditions that predetermined the emergence of the codes of journalism ethics in Russia and the United States of America; the algorithm of regulating a journalist’s relationships with other participants of his professional career (a journalist and the audience of a publication, a journalist and the sources of information, etc.); practical approaches to resolving ethical issues arising in the process of journalist’s work. The findings of the study show that the historical conditions of the development of the two states, as well as their political traditions, influenced the development of journalism and formation of the professional journalism culture. These factors predetermined the specific features of the codes of journalism ethics in Russia and the United States, in particular, the time of the adoption of the first codes, the current number of such codes, their substantive features, specifics of their implementation.2015-01-01T00:00:00Z
