Graduation qualification work P.А. Pestravskaya is devoted to an important topic - children's diaries of the Great Patriotic War. Various aspects of the history of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) traditionally attract the attention of researchers. In Soviet historiography, the course of military action was studied in detail, a considerable amount of material was collected that pertained to the life of both the participants in the battles and the workers of the rear. At the same time, it was the events of the world war that caused a large number of falsifications. In assessing the Great Patriotic War, priorities changed both in the scientific literature and in the works of art. Events began to be submitted linearly, biased, without versatility, which is present in any life situation. An impartial assessment of the events of war is possible only in the memories of witnesses, the participants themselves, who because of their age, social status and other things written about the incident from different sides, do it with varying degrees of emotion, awareness, and so on. In this regard, the memories of children of the war period are highlighted. To help contemporaries make up their own opinion about the events of the Great Patriotic War and was written by P.A. In conclusion, the author came to significant conclusions.
