Zhuk I.I. presented the analysis of such concepts as: "students’ web-portal", "electronic library", "networking tools for recording, editing and reviewing lectures", "synchronous communication facilities ", "virtual world". He also processed a sufficient amount of sociological information, made an attempt to conduct an applied study of communication features and the specifics of working in virtual learning environments. Practical problems and statistics of students' activity in virtual educational environments of Saint-Petersburg State University and Warwick University are analyzed by the author. The author conducted a comparative study of these two universities, identified the features of communication practices and developed recommendations for overcoming communication barriers between students and teachers in virtual learning environments. Essential shortcomings of this graduation work are: 1. The complete absence of a clear structure, logical sequence and competent style of presentation in the text of the master's thesis submitted for review by the reviewer. 2. Low quality of the presented visual information on the results of the applied research conducted by the author. 3. Lack of clearly stated and convincingly substantiated conclusions. However, in general, the submitted master's thesis meets the requirements for this type of work, and with adequate protection deserves a positive evaluation (3 - "satisfactory").
