REVIEW head on qualifying work student of the 2nd year Master, Department of Analytical Chemistry, St. Petersburg State University Institute of Chemistry Kozlova Anna Alexandrovna "Application vehicle recovery method for the synthesis of Fe2S3-x systems, CuFeS2-x and CuFe2S3-x» Final work of A.A. Kozlova devoted to the study of sulfide compounds of iron, such as magnetite, hematite, and greigite chalcopyrite, which currently are widely used in microelectronics and medicine. For example, it is assumed their use as contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging in the targeted delivery of drugs and various recording devices and information storage, sensors. The main requirements here are ease of synthesis, non-toxic, chemical stability. In contrast to the oxide nanoparticles of iron sulfides difficult to synthesize because of the strong dependence of the properties on the ratio of Fe/S and the synthesis temperature. They are also more prone to degradation and oxidation in air. The specific objectives of the master's thesis included: check the applicability and testing of vehicle recovery methods for targeted regulation of sulfur content in the compounds greigite (Fe3S4), chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) and cubanite (CuFe2S3), studies of local states of iron atoms to identify the synthesized compounds. The high experimental skill, competent and informed approach to the conduct of this work in all its stages allow A.A. Kozlova achieve a successful performance and reliable results. Of particular interest are the results of the use of nuclear gamma resonance spectroscopy to monitor the state of the iron atoms in all compounds. The student has mastered a complex nuclear-physical methods in a short period of time - spectroscopy nuclear gamma resonance (Mössbauer spectroscopy) that has provided high-quality and reproducible conduct complex and lengthy experiments. In addition, A.A. Kozlova has mastered the necessary amount of literature data in different areas, participated in the planning of the work and discussion of its results, and made a decisive contribution, in fact, in the writing and presentation of work. A significant contribution to A.A. Kozlova in qualifying work is not in doubt, and the work itself, certainly deserves an excellent rating. Supervisor prof., Doctor of Science. V.G. Semenov
