Zinkevich Xenia Vadimovna collecting material for thesis work at the training base of St. Petersburg State University, in the X-ray department of the City Mariinsky hospital. In the process, she got acquainted with the principles of contrast X-ray examination of the esophagus and stomach in the domestic long-distance analog-to-digital machine MCT-electrons. In her research, she took a small group of observations - 35 procedures radiographic studies of the esophagus and stomach of patients referred with various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Diplomnitsa able to prove that the true dose of patients with contrast X-ray examination of the upper GI is much higher than the average standard doses described about 15 years ago for the analog technology. In operation, the X-ray study, it was observed that the dosimeters DRC bound to the X-ray apparatus, do not reflect a true picture of doses at the low dose rate registration. To determine the entrance dose (PDP) had to make a pause between Skopje and graphs to record doses. Diplomnitse was necessary to examine the influence of various factors on the dose patients to identify because of their correlations, to clarify the calculated conversion factors previously described in various methodological recommendations. With all these problems it has successfully coped.
Thesis performed Zinkevich Ksenia Vadimovna independently and written in standard form, consists of an introduction, main body, conclusions, conclusions, list of references. Introduction convincingly reflects the relevance of the chosen research topic. Results of the study are well treated statistically, are presented in a large amount of tables and graphs.
The work has a scientific novelty and practical significance for both radiology and for radiation hygiene. She points to the need for methodical implementation of radiological studies, the optimal amount of fluoroscopy and radiography.
The author offers recommendations to reduce radiation doses gastrointestinal tract, given the high correlation.
